Locks Can't Stop Him

As I was typing up the post below this one, I heard some noise in the kitchen and asked Autumn to go see what Brighton was doing. She came back and said "he is innnn trouble". I went into the kitchen and saw yet again (refer to a couple of posts below) flour all over the floor but no Brighton. I heard noise in the family room and went over to find flour all over the couch! Not only was the flour in a locked pantry but it was hidden behind many things. He has figured out how to open the lock.
After cleaning up Brighton and changing his clothes I went to go vacuum up the mess. As I was doing this Brighton came out with a tampon (which was yet in another locked cupboard). Notice he still has flour in the corner of his mouth.
I went into the bathroom to find this all over the floor.
This all happened before 10am and I can honestly say I have never been more happy to have him go down for a nap in all my entire life!

Brighton Is At It Again!

You would think I would learn that I can not take showers while Brighton is awake! As I was in the shower Brighton came in covered in flour holding the empty bag. It didn't matter if I was done with my shower or not I knew I had to get out before he had it all over the house. I dried off and went into the kitchen to find Brighton swimming in the flour! It was too late, he had it all over our main floor of our house and put a pillow from the couch in the middle of it too!
I came into the kitchen and told Brighton "NO MORE!". He stood up and came and gave me the biggest hug and said "no more, no more". It was very hard to get mad at him when he is being so darn cute! He already knows how to manipulate his mom.
"Look mom, who needs toys when I have flour".
I don't know how he got so much flour in his hair.

When Aspen was little she did something very similar to this only it was with powdered sugar. The only difference was Aspen knew she did something wrong and tried to clean it up with water which only made it a sticky mess. I wish I would have gotten a picture of that but that was before digital cameras and before I learned to grab the camera before I get mad. Aspen and Brighton remind me so much of each other it is scary!

Mmmmm Chocolate

I don't know about anybody else but I have two kids that are chocolate lovers! I swear to you they can sniff it out! Last night I had a Relief Society activity and so Jay watched the kids. After he put Brighton to bed he made brownies for him and the girls. As I doing laundry this morning I thought "it is so nice that Brighton & Autumn are playing so well so I can get some stuff done". You think I would learn by now that is not the case, it means someone is up to no good! Not long after thinking this, Brighton came to me with a spatula in his hand and chocolate all over his face. I couldn't figure out how in the world he got up on the counter because I have all the bar stools and chairs on the table for this very reason. I went into the kitchen and he had pulled open the oven door and climbed up onto that and then the counter.

This is Autumn not much older than Brighton who found a bag of chocolate candy bars and climbed up on the top bunk bed and ate the whole thing in secret!

Turkeys and the Little Twirp

For Family Home Evening last night we made these turkeys from the kids hands and feet. They are laughing in this picture because the only way to get
Brighton to smile was to gobble at him.

I have to shower before Brighton wakes up in the morning or wait until he takes a nap (you may ask "why" read on and you will find out). Well, this morning he woke up at 6am and I hadn't showered yet. Aspen was awake and I told her to watch him while I jumped in the shower. Normally if I would ask Aspen to do this he would come in crying a couple of times and bang on the shower door. Today he didn't and I thought to myself, boy, Aspen is doing a good job at watching him. Was I wrong!!! I got out of the shower and got dressed and on my way out to the kitchen I noticed brown stuff all over the carpet.

I then proceeded to the kitchen to find Brighton playing in not one but TWO cans of Instant Breakfast! He had bit through the seals and had dumped them out and drooled all over it to make it wet and hard to clean up! It was all the way down the hall way and into our bedroom! This was almost impossible to clean up because we have dark hardwood floors with cracks in between and some of it you couldn't tell was there until you stepped in it.

I then turned on the tub to put Brighton in it. While I was waiting for it to fill up I tried to vacuum up the stuff before it was ground into the carpet. I came back to the bathroom to find my cell phone in the tub. After yelling and screaming at him this is the look he gave me.
You would think with all that this kid put me through while I was pregnant that I deserve a kid that is well behaved! Nope! (I know that my Mom and Ash are just laughing thinking that I deserve it all.)
